One of My Favorite Things!

Matt and I love health and fitness. We both love to hike, go for walks, lift weights, run, and eat healthy. Matt has a set of weights and some work out equipment that he has collected over the years. I was always the girl who went to aerobics or danced around my house for a work out. Recently however, I have been exploring different at home work outs since for the first time in my life I do not have a gym membership.
One website that I have been loving is  fitness magaizine.com. They have a lot of really easy work outs that you can do in your home. They do not take long. They also help me mix up my work outs. My favorite one lately has been their best abs around the world. Its kind of nice to be able to have all this free health and fitness stuff at my finger tips.

I Love My Best Friend!

In the fall of 2006 we met at freshman orientation. We quickly realized that we grew up really close to one another, and that we had a lot in common. Within the next few weeks we ended up hanging out and talking all night long. After that night we began to text and hang out every once and a while. When we went home for Christmas we went on a date and decided we were better off as friends. That was probably because the last thing I wanted was a relationship. We were still friends texting, talking, seeing each other on campus. We hung out a few times over summer as friends. After that summer he went to Italy and we wrote a few times. When he came back our friendship took off right where we left off and it keeps getting better.
I love that I get to come home to my husband and that we get to walk home to our apartment together. I love that I get to eat dinner with him every night. I love that when I go to bed he is right there next to me. I love that he can make my day better. I love that he understands when I get stressed. Just like four years ago when Matt and I first met, we can still spend the entire night talking. I love my best friend and I plan on spending forever with him.

Thanksgiving

We had a fun Thanksgiving. The weekend before my mom came and stayed with us. She was only here for a day but we had a lot of fun. We went to Kneaders, Great Harvest Bread, went out to dinner, and we made her yummy sweet potato and sausage soup.
On Tuesday we made our own turkey dinner with stuffing and green beans. It was delicious. On Wednesday we went to Harry Potter with Matt's cousins. Afterwards we went to dinner in Salt Lake. It was a very enjoyable night. On Thursday we went up to Matt's grandparents for a very yummy Thanksgiving dinner. We woke up on Friday morning and went shopping. It was Matt's first black Friday and we both thought it was very successful, especially because we did not wake up until 9am!
We had a fun Thanksgiving and feel like we have so much to be grateful for. Here is a list of some of the things that we feel like we are grateful for.
  1. We are so grateful to have a roof over our head!
  2. We are so grateful to be able to have a heater that works because right now we would be freezing without it.
  3. We are so grateful for Matt's parents and everything they have done for us. They also raised the most amazing son Matt, who happens to be my husband.
  4. We are so grateful for my parents and all that they have done for us.
  5. We are so grateful to have a Temple so close.
  6. We are grateful to have a car.
  7. We are so grateful for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter - day saints.
  8. We are grateful for jobs.
  9. We are grateful for Thanksgiving dinner.
  10. We are also grateful for such great friends and family.
We hope your thanksgiving was as great as ours. We are also very excited for Christmas!

We love Trader Joes!

I miss Trader Joes. I really wish Utah had one. They have the best recipes. I can always find the best ingredients. They also have soyaki. This is the best for fried rice, stir fry, and meats.

October Conference 2010

We love conference. There is something about being able to hear what the Apostles, and Prophet of the Lord have to say to us. I was able to watch the Relief Society Broadcast, and it was great to hear what everyone had to say. President Monson gave a truly great talk.
On Friday night we were able to go to Matt's mission reunion. We had so much fun. We were able to spend time with his mission buddies, his mission president, and the mission president's wife.  We also were able to see pictures of Italy and the people that he served. Italy is so beautiful.
On Saturday we were able to go to Kneaders in the morning and eat yummy french toast. We also watched conference. It was nice to be able to enjoy watching conference from the comfort of our adorable apartment. We loved hearing from Elder Holland, and President Uchtdorf. We loved being able to feel the spirit and hear the messages given by church leaders. On Saturday night Matt went to Priesthood session. He came back and let me know all of the little details. We enjoyed talking about what we had heard that day.
On Sunday we woke up early and made caramel corn before going to the Jones Family house(Matt's cousins). We were able to watch the last two sessions of conference. We loved hearing all of the talks on Sunday and enjoyed eating dinner with the Jones Family. We are so happy to call them family. President Packer did a great job on his talk. As Matt said he really laid down the law. President Packer did a great job of speaking of things that are becoming more and more prevalent in this day of age.
We are so grateful for conference. We cannont wait until we get the Ensign next month. We love new technologies that allow us to rewatch conference online. We are excited for April and the next session of conference. We had a great first conference weekend together as husband and wife!

We love Fall!

Fall is one of my favorite times of years. The rain comes. You can wear sweaters, cute boots. You get to cuddle up with the one that you love. You get to eat good treats like pumpkin pie. It is football season. You get to watch general conference. It is thanksgiving time. There is a lot of yummy food. You light candles that make the home smell of cinnamon. Hot chocolate quickly becomes the drink of choice. Soup becomes the food of choice.

Welcome to Our Blog

If you have ever read a blog that I have written before it is sporadic at best. I start them, I write in them and then for some strange reason my blog begins to slack. I do not write as much on it. I spend less and less time writing what I am doing in my life and more time living it. This blog however I am going to be different. I will actually write, have pictures, and be more consistent. I will keep my blog updated. I will be better about keeping up with my life rather than falling behind I promise.
