New York

At the end of October we went to New York. I had never been to New York but was so excited to go. We stayed in a hotel in midtown and walked all around the city. The first day we were there we walked around and explored and walked down to Rock Center. That night we went to Time Square and went to get cheesecake at Juniors. I have to say Juniors had by far the best cheesecake ever.

The following day we woke up early and went down to Rock Center again to go to the Today Show. I was so excited to go and have always wanted to see the Today Show live. It was neat to see them film and to see the set. Matt will watch the Today Show some mornings and text me now saying "Look we have been there."

After the Today Show we went to the New York Library and the Grand Central Station.

Matt had a meeting with an Attorney in New York so I explored the shopping but was not tempted to buy anything because I was newly pregnant. After Matt's meeting we ate lunch and walked back to our hotel. We walked and went into several shops on Fifth Avenue. We also went to the building where Suits was filmed and took a picture in front.

That night we walked from our hotel to the Temple. It was so neat to be outside in the busy city one second and then feel the peace of the Temple the next. After the Temple we went to Katz and ate our body weight in food.

Our last day in New York we woke up and went on a walk in Central Park. Following our run we went to this bagel place that was amazing and had homemade cream cheese. After we finished our bagels we went back to the hotel and changed and went to the Met. We loved the Met and spent a good amount of time just relaxing on the roof eating lunch. It was one of my favorite places in New York. After the Met we went down to Battery Park, the Stock Market, and the 9/11 memorial. I especially loved the 9/11 memorial it was neat to see the new buildings they built where the twin towers use to be. Following the 9/11 memorial we went to Eatly. We ate dinner there and saw the Flat Iron building.

I loved New York and could live there in a heart beat. I think there is so much fun stuff to do there. It was a fun trip.

October 2014

October was an extremely busy and fun month for us. We had our spring triathlon the beginning of the month. I also took a pregnancy test that week and found out I was pregnant about two days before the race. I didn't do as well as I normally did training but Matt was patient and stayed with me the whole race. That following week we went to the doctor and found out we were definitely pregnant and we were both shocked and beyond excited. We told both of our families and they were elated.

We also went to the Penguins Hockey game with our friends Kerri and Mike. Kerri got box tickets from her work. It was so fun and we spend most of the game just laughing with them.

October is also the month in Pittsburgh were fall is in full bloom. I love all the fall colors and activities. We try to go on a lot of walks to enjoy the weather and leaves. We also went apple picking with some of our friends out at a local farm.

September 2014

In the beginning of September we went to Michigan to visit Matt's cousin and wife. We had a lot of fun spending time with them.

We also went to three sporting events in one week. We went to a Penguins Hockey scrimmage in the morning followed by a University of Pittsburgh Football game that afternoon. We also went to a Pirates Baseball game that week as well. It was beautiful weather.

We spent a lot of the month of September training for our sprint triathlon together since we had been training for it apart all summer.

The start of School

Matt has officially started his last year of law school which means this is his last year of school ever. We have been married for over 4 years and Matt has been in school the entire time. It has been a very fun time of life but it is nice to know that there is an end. The weekend before school started we wanted to celebrate and make sure we are enjoying some of our favorite things about Pittsburgh.

On Friday after work we went to the Little Italy Days in the Bloomfield neighborhood. They had lots of booths and tents set up and it is fun to walk around. My favorite part of the festival is ALWAYS the canolis. They are fresh and our the closest thing to authentic Italian.

On Saturday morning we woke up and did a long bike ride. We are training for a sprint triathalon in October and have been training from opposite sides of the country this summer. We loved training together again. It was a beautiful day and good ride.

Side note Matt has the best selfie arm. (Thank you 6'6'' frame!)

On Monday Matt started his first last day of school EVER! We were both very excited for this. It was a beautiful day and I made him take a picture with a sign similar to an elementary school child.

Upstate New York

After being apart all summer Matt and I planned a trip to New York before the start of school. We stayed in Palmyra and did some of the church history sites as well as some of the other fun tourist attractions.

Every morning we were there we walked around the Sacred Grove. It was the best start to the day.

On Saturday Morning we went to the Palmyra temple.

I ate way too much Chill and Grill.

We went out on Sodus bay

It started to rain so we were not able to go to the beach near the light house but it was still beautiful.

We went on a tour of some of the Church history sites.

Breakfast for Dinner is always the best.

Chill and Grill again

We also went on a hike in Watkins Glen. It was beautiful. There were 19 waterfalls in total.

The first week in August ... California

After being apart for ten weeks this summer for our jobs it was nice to be able to spend some time together without work. We were able to go to the beach almost everyday with my parents and even spent most of Saturday on an all day adventure down to San Diego. We went to the Mormon Battalion, saw Torrey Pines, went to the light house, and drove PCH through all the adorable towns in San Diego I never knew existed. It was so fun and a great trip to be with people again after living alone for the summer.

We were able to see my adorable friend and her girls. It was the first time I had met her youngest even though Matt had seen them this summer.

Another beautiful day at 3arch. I even got my dad down to the beach a couple times.

Anniversary Week

Matt and I spent our 4th Anniversary in Pittsburgh. We hiked, biked, ran, shopped, ate a lot, and went to a sold out baseball game. It was so fun to be able to spend time together during this stay cation.
